PROJECT GOLDILOCKS
A Place that feels just right
Opening
A nature sanctuary being built in Canada for neurodivergent families, and anyone who needs the world to slow down for a while.
Our Story
We know what it feels like to plan a holiday, or even a short outing, and quietly give up before you have even started. Too noisy, too unpredictable, and too many unknowns.
My name is Andrew. My wife Lee and I are parents to Gray, our wonderful PDA autistic son. He has taught us more about the world than anything else in our lives. How to truly listen, how to slow down, and how much it matters to feel genuinely safe in a space.
That feeling, what we call nervous system safety, is something that neurodivergent families and people living with mental health challenges share. The world asks too much of all of them, and gives too few places to recover.
Project Goldilocks is what we are building because of Gray. A rural sanctuary in Canada, rewilded, quiet, and designed from the ground up so that families like ours can finally exhale.
The Problem we are solving
87% of families with an autistic child do not take family vacations. (Source: IBCCES, 2019)
Not because they do not want to, but because the world is not built for them.
And beyond autism, millions of Canadians living with anxiety, burnout, and mental health challenges have nowhere in nature that was designed with their needs in mind. No crowds, no performance, no pressure. Just somewhere that holds you quietly.
We were that family and we decided to do something about it.
What we are building
Cabin
A small guest cabin designed entirely from a neurodivergent perspective. No retrofitting, and built from scratch with sensory comfort and safety at the centre of every decision.
Rounded edges, soft materials, and no exposed hazards. It will have a quiet nook. There will be consistent temperature control and a sensory play area that doesn't overwhelm.
A space where both children and parents can genuinely rest, possibly for the first time in a long time.
The Multi-use Platform
A semi-enclosed outdoor space bookable privately, one group or family at a time. No strangers and no pressure.
The mornings are dedicated entirely to neurodivergent families, three sessions a day, one family at a time, with no overlap and no strangers. The fee is kept deliberately low, and our long term goal is to offer those morning sessions completely free of charge.
In the afternoons the space opens to anyone who needs nature and stillness:
Caregivers and support workers. People living with anxiety, burnout, or mental health challenges seeking genuine restoration. Writers and creatives. Remote workers who need nature around them. Small yoga or wellness groups. Occupational therapists and mental health practitioners. Corporate teams seeking a real nature retreat.
Whatever brings you here, the intention is the same. Slow down, breathe, and feel held by something quieter than ordinary life.

Be part of it from the beginning.
Join our list for honest updates as we build. We are two parents doing something real.
Are you a partner we haven't met yet?
Project Goldilocks is looking for the right person. Someone who gets it, maybe because they have lived it.
If you have the means to support what we are building, and the values to match, we would love to have a quiet conversation. No pressure, no pitch. Just two people talking about something that could change lives.
